MHP Solicitors is pleased to announce that John Shaw has been appointed Managing Partner of the firm, taking over the role from Paul Tuohy.  John, a former President of the Law Society of Ireland, was previously Managing Partner of the firm from 2005 to 2009.

John has practised as a litigation solicitor at all levels and acted in many substantial High Court matters, and in addition to a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution, John has extensive experience in several areas of public law. He has been County Solicitor for the County of Clare since November 2007.

He chaired the Law Society Task Force on the Future of the Law Society, the Law Society Committee which published the Code of Conduct for Council Members of the Law Society and he also chaired the Guidance and Ethics Committee of the Law Society resulting in the publication of the book “Code of Conduct for Solicitors in Ireland”.
