Telders International Law Moot Court Competition in The Hague

MHP Sellors is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of trainee solicitor Robert Hardiman, who represented Ireland at the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition which took place in The Hague, 4th to 5th June in Leiden University.
Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious international law competitions in the world, the Telders Moot has been held annually since 1977. The competition simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), providing participants with a unique opportunity to engage in complex issues of public international law through a fictional case.
It is a huge honour for one of our Law students to be selected to represent Ireland at the Moot. Whilst team Ireland did unfortunately not win at the Moot, coach Claire O’ Mahony praised the collegiality of the 29 teams and said; “Tough advocacy rounds against teams from Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia and Bulgaria with strong ‘thinking on your feet’ skills on display in the face of challenging questions from the Judges.“
Robert secured his place on the highly competitive Law Society team following a rigorous selection process, demonstrating exceptional legal knowledge, advocacy skills, and dedication. His achievement reflects not only his personal commitment but also the high calibre of legal talent nurtured within the firm.
Everyone at MHP Sellors extends their warmest congratulations to Robert and the 2026 Irish team, Tony McBrien, Katie Mallon, Nadine Fitzpatrick for partaking in this remarkable event.
